Today Åsen became more than a wind farm! On its way to becoming a fully hybrid power plant with batteries and algorithmic trading. 🚀🔋🤖
The 1 MW / 2.33 MWh Narada BESS cabinets arrived today. Ten cabinets in total, five for each wind turbine. Delivered on site from China in just four months.
Now we will spend the next month installing the system, connecting it to the power facilities and bringing the hybrid system into the market. By combining wind production with battery storage, Åsen will be able to store energy and participate much more actively in the power and balancing markets.
Åsen 2 will be the first hybridised wind farm in Norway and will be a stepping stone for Gnist Energi and our partners as we scale the BESS business further in the Nordics.
I am deeply impressed by the entire organisation involved in making this happen so far.
